During a study, it was observed that application of some common used chemotherapies aiming Hodgkin’s lymphoma is followed by increase in amount of ovary immature eggs, however as researchers said it is too soon for any judge.

During this study, researchers from university of Edinburgh have carried out an examination on some ovary tissue samples including 14 formerly-received chemotherapy and 12 healthy women. It was observed that among chemotherapy-exposed patients, 8 sample from patients who have received a specific chemotherapeutic drugs known as ABVD consisting of adriamycin, bleomycin, vinblastine and dacarbazine contained increased amount of immature eggs than other samples either from normal persons or persons who have received other kinds of chemotherapeutic drugs.

It seems that future studies will focus on effect of each component of ABVD on ovary tissue.
